About

Calling all California charter school board members—CSDC is kicking off 2025 with a weekly webinar series just for you!

Hosted by CSDC’s Governance & Policy Specialist, Caitlin O’Halloran Hellar, this series will delve into topics like policies, student data, accountability, renewal, and more.

Additionally, two of the webinars in the series can help you meet the new mandatory ethics training requirement.

Mandatory Ethics Training

Effective January 1, 2025, all California charter school governing board members must complete two hours of ethics trainings by January 1, 2026.

Learn more about the new requirement for local officials mandated by the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) here.

Good news: CSDC Member Schools can satisfy the FPPC’s requirement through this webinar series at no additional cost!

Here’s how:

  1. Make sure your school’s CSDC Membership is current or join/renew here.
  2. Join the live webinar on February and/or watch the recording that will be posted shortly after the webinar concludes.
  3. After the live webinar (and/or watching the recording), complete a brief assessment to demonstrate your knowledge. A link to the assessment can be found on the webinar recording page below.

After completing these steps, CSDC will provide certification that you can use to prove that you have met the mandatory requirement.

Also: Form 700 Training

This series will also help board members prepare for their annual Form 700 disclosure—due April 1.

Attend the February 26 webinar and learn CSDC’s tips on completing the form and have your questions answered by CSDC’s governance experts.
