As a result of Senate Bill 553 (SB 553), all employers, including charter schools, that fall within the scope of California Labor Code (LC) 6401.7 and LC 6401.9, are required to establish, implement, and maintain an effective, written Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP). California's new law requiring a WVPP-related training, record keeping, and reporting protocol for nearly all employers, is in effect now, with a compliance deadline of July 1, 2024.
