Charter Currents: State Board of Education Extends Testing Window to July 30, Pursues Federal Waiver for Flexibility in 2020-21 Testing

After more than five hours of discussion Wednesday, the State Board of Education voted to extend testing windows and to ask the US Department of Education to waive science testing and test-driven accountability mandates. The Board deferred action, however, on the key question of whether to mandate this spring’s Smarter Balanced testing.
