The 2023 California School Dashboard and Differentiated Assistance List Posts

The 2023 California School Dashboard posted today, providing a public view to key metrics for California schools and local education agencies (LEAs). The Dashboard’s state and local indicator data are central to Local Control and Accountability Plan development and to state and federal school accountability and school improvement systems. For charter schools, Dashboard data are a key part of charter renewal, along with evidence of student growth, which Dashboard metrics do not currently measure.

Colors are back. The 2023 Dashboard is similar to previous Dashboards, including the return of “colors.” The color for each indicator is determined using five-by-five and three-by-five tables that combine each indicator’s performance level, from Very Low to Very High, with the change from the prior year in that indicator’s “Status,” from Decreased Significantly to Increased Significantly.
