Today the U.S. Department of Education (ED) posted an invitation to apply for grants to fund replication of high quality charter schools operated by high-performing Charter Management Organizations (CMOs). This is a highly competitive, nationwide grant program providing large (estimated $600 thousand to $3.5 million per year for five years) grants to a modest number (estimated 10 to 20) of grantees.
